Case support services
Four service lines, all performed inside your own case management system and reviewed by your attorneys before anything is filed.
Paralegal Bench provides dedicated remote paralegals to US immigration firms across four service lines: removal defense and court support, asylum and humanitarian preparation, family petitions and naturalization, and case status tracking. All work is preparatory and administrative, performed under the supervising attorney’s direction.
Removal defense and immigration court support
Court work is deadline-bound in a way agency filings are not — a date set by an immigration judge does not move for staffing shortages. Support here concentrates on packet assembly, exhibit indexing, and keeping court-set dates visible to the supervising attorney early enough to act on them.
- —EOIR filing and exhibit preparation
- —Hearing packet assembly and indexing
- —Court deadline tracking with escalation
Asylum and humanitarian case preparation
Asylum preparation is the most evidence-heavy work in immigration practice and the least susceptible to automation, because the record is assembled rather than generated. The time cost sits in compiling country-conditions material, formatting declarations, and indexing exhibits so a reviewer can follow the claim.
- —Country-conditions research compilation
- —Declaration formatting and exhibit indexing
- —Supporting evidence collection and labeling
Family petitions and naturalization
High-volume, checklist-driven filings where the failure mode is omission rather than judgment: a missing exhibit, a superseded form edition, an incorrect fee. Preparation runs against your own checklists, with completeness verified before the file reaches an attorney for review.
- —Petition and application preparation
- —Evidence checklist generation per filing type
- —Filing fee and edition-date verification
Case status tracking and client updates
Long queues generate work that has nothing to do with legal difficulty — receipts and notices to monitor, evidence that ages out and must be refreshed, and clients who call because time has passed. This is the load that scales with backlog length rather than case complexity.
- —Receipt and notice monitoring
- —Processing-time benchmarking
- —Scheduled client status updates
Task-level detail
Two task types cut across the service lines above and are covered in more depth — how the work actually runs, where it fails, and what the attorney controls.
